Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Nowadays there are a lot of problems associated with drugs. Many people take serious drugs, that are addiction-makers. They kill themselves by monsterous doses and criminal lifestyle; the last factor is also dangerous to others. Taking drugs addicts lose control and behave recklessly. That's why police should pursue dealers and pushers, preventing development of drug dependence. The government should also look after drug users. Nevertheless not all the narcotics are equally dangerous.For examle, marijuana is a "weak" stuff, the negative effect is uncomparable with the other drugs. The sales business is closely connected with criminal, it hinders police to work on really important problems. So, maybe, the government could legalize some stuffs.

ReplyDeleteI`ve never tied any drugs, so I can`t really argue with someone about it, but, in my opinion, if government legalize some drugs it will be really better. Government will get some extra money, people will get a job, other people will get some keef. Everybody will be happy, so let`s do it.
I have a very indifferent position towards the drugs legalisation problem. At one side, people should decide themselves whether to take such risks or not. From the other side, drugs are really dangerous to health and social structurization. I thought a lot about that problem and came to conclusion that drugs should be legal for people starting from age 25 or something equal - when person fully realize the consequences of his actions.
ReplyDeleteVladimir it is nice suggestion to legalize some soft drugs. I want to develop your suggestion and to offer one maybe even more radical.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion government should monopolize drugs. What I mean is a creation of special "drug houses" where people who are interested in it, could buy some drugs and take them under the supervision of doctors and drug specialists. All we know that monopoly is not the best market organization. But in that case, drug monopoly will decrease fatalities due to supervision and good quality of stuff and control addictiveness.
I really like your post! And you have chosen a great topic, an original an actual one!)) I also suppose that drugs should be legalised due a diverse range of reasons. The first idea that struck me after reading tis post is that when i visited a Saturday conferention dedicated to nes-20, one of speaker gave quite an interesting research how the utility and incomes of different agents n economy will grow, if the drugs are legalised. I's really interesting topic and if you are interested in this research. I suppose you can find it at nes site
