# 15.

This is the end. Undoubtedly, it is the happiest time of the semester. It means the end of going to university, doing homeworks, passing exams. Just for one month, I hope. I want to thank David and my classmates for being my colleagues and frieands this course - it was very funny an useful. The utility of the course is enormous. I tought a lot on this course: mostly about writing the different essays. However, not all of the assignments was equaly useful.
1. Essays.
They are most useful, there you receive a full response for your response. That's also the specification of the course.
2.Reading.
That's a help for writing.
3. Grammar and Vocabulary.
They are less useful - they happens once or twice a semester and all the work happens the last day, and you don't gain any benefits.
4. Blogs.
I got nothing of them - after the first one they turned into the routine work, and were not a kind of joy or useful work.
Finally, the course was a very useful.

Good evening everybody,
As you know, you must be older than 18 to get a driving license. In my opinion, 18 is caused by the full age in Russia. When you achieve 14 in Russia, you get an incomplete criminal responsibility, if you commited a crime, you would get a partial punishment. At 16 you can drive a motorbike (after an exam). At 18 you get a full criminal responsibility and a right to drive a car. I'm interested, why you can drive a motorbike before the car: it's much more dangerous to drive a bike than to ride a car: motorcycles are faster and the driver is less protected by the vehicle - it's easier to be injured or die. However, the statistics (http://www.gibdd.ru/stat/), bikers get in an accidents less than car drivers and the damage is less on average. Maybe, that's one of the most important fact you need to be older and more responsible for your deed for driving a car.

What's wrong with my argumentative essay.
When I see on my essay, something sems to be wrong.Well, I'm not speaking about the works-cited list or the font. The connection between ideas seem to more or lesss clear. There were quotations, paraphrases. I wrote down even the concluding sentences. The problem was in thesis statement. I don't understand the problem I'm discussing. From the one hand, the problem of gender discrimination seems to be obvious, from the other hand I have never faced this as women do. Maybe, where I don't see a problem, it exists, or I overestimate some stuffs. Also, I have not an appropriative worldwide attitude: Of course, my society is more "west" than russian, however, the country I live influence my point of view. So, I think I have no rights tj write, how it is hard to be a woman and what problem the face.

Have you ever thought about how is to live when you are retired? I read that the oldest woman on the Earth died when she was 116. That means that near a half of her life was an oldness. Also in 60's, when she became retired, most women didn't worked at all - they were housewives. Old have no jobs, no many conversations and a simple meaning of life. I think it's hard to realize that the society doesn't need you. When you work, you feel that something depends on you. The illnesses and old age pluse a feeling of a demise. They also provides dementia which a special treatment to all retired. It's a well known fact that old do not adapt to the new culture.  Many things in mass media are not appropriative for them, so as the way of making business today. Many of them do not understand how to use the new gadjets. It's very scary to be retired.

I don't know many things about the internships, nevertheless, as I imagine, internships is an useful thing. My opponents claim that that kind of business interns do at their workplace is fake and doesn't help them to study the important one things about their future job. That is pointless - interns can't work as a normal employee bacase they have no required level of experience and skills. Skipping internship will lead a big amount of potencial interns to layoffs. There is also an argument that only rich can allow the internships to themselves. As i know, it's not difficult to get a loan for a good education. A good education implies a well-paid job, so it won't be so hard to get a credit. The low-paid professions seem to have a little internship, so to get a small loan won't be a serious problem. Generally internship is a right thing: people work for experience as they study for knowledge, so they should't be payed or should be low-payed.

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Nowadays there are a lot of problems associated with drugs. Many people take serious drugs, that are addiction-makers. They kill themselves by monsterous doses and criminal lifestyle; the last factor is also dangerous to others. Taking drugs addicts lose control and behave recklessly. That's why police should pursue dealers and pushers, preventing development of drug dependence. The government should also look after drug users. Nevertheless not all the narcotics are equally dangerous. For examle, marijuana is a "weak" stuff, the negative effect is uncomparable with the other drugs. The sales business is closely connected with criminal, it hinders police to work on really important problems. So, maybe, the government could legalize some stuffs.

Today I'm going to describe the differences in aspect of piracy in the USA and Russia. In the beginning of most DVDs you can see a video which tells you that the piracy is a kind of stealing. The stealing a product - a song, or a film, or any other stuff, rights on which belongs to somebody. In the USA there are strong laws and the system of punishment - one illegal song can cost you an astronomic amount of money. While in Russia there is no such a strength, which find and fine. Everything, which is not punished becomes normal. Likewise, there is a rule, which forbid swearing in public places. As you know, there are a few part of population compliance this rule. I think, there is no only nature difference between Russian and American people. The price is too high for Russia. Making a decision, a person solves a problem, what to do: to buy or to steal. He estimates, what is bigger: the price minus the good possession feeling of buying or the fine of being caught multiplied the probability of being caught plus negative feeling of stealing. Maybe if the price would be less, people would stop piracy.

Hello everybody, today I'm going to share with you some my thoughts about the theory of complexity.
Previously I thought there is a law or an equation what is able to describe the most of events and regularities in our life.
In school I heard that physics can't solve a problem with three subjects because they influence each other. That same time I heard an idea that a little change of variable possibly entails a huge change of function. Alan Turing called this "The Butterfly Effect". Some time I was really frustrated by the uncertainty of the future.
Starting studying social science, I taught that approximate productions, based on past experience could be really accurate. Because all unknown and unpredictable factors are considered.

Hi everybody. I'd like to tell you about my progress at my English classes in NES.
When I was in school, I've been preparing for english state exam. My teachers told me how to write a letter to a friend and an essay. The letter had a strong structure, which couldn't be broken; the essay was too limited for such themes, on which it should be based, so this scheme hasn't created any stimulus for improving level of language.
In this classes I met plenty new structures and kinds of essays. Well, as for me, the main advantage of this classes is a really wondering feedback: for every draft you receive a whole essay about your mistakes, the understandable and appropriate pieces of advice. I really enjoy the live connection with the instructor, it develops speaking and listening skills a lot. However, it's a problem for me that there are no tasks, which bring me new vocabulary and strengthen grammar..
I hope, next semester in our classes we would write 3000-4000 letter works.

Some reasons I prefer series to movies.
I like series more than movies because series are longer: they provide me longitude pleasure (if it's really good one). Series character become close and understandable to me, so I love them. For example, "Once upon a time in America" could be much longer than it is, despite it's about 4 hours. I suppose, everybody dreams his favorite film to be directed as a series with the same actors, decorations, story. If a film is a pleasure to see, it is always wanted to never ends. There is also a kind of "feedback": a good series like "The Scrubs" or "Friends" couldn't be filled all in two or three hours; their story develops and changes, bringing new characters, connection with some present events like "TBBT". Also sometimes a book, on which was based a film, concludes more details and key points and without them the true meaning would be lost- it's impossible to make a film, based on "The Game of Thrones" or to tell all parts of "Harry Potter" in one time. However, a film is more static- there are no shitty seasons or characters, it is more discretic in "0-1" scale. In my opinion, if a film is better than the same world soap operas, it's really cool. Or the series are dull. Well, that's not all but enough.

When I was 8 I used to go to the chess club in my school, it was 2 hour after my classes ended, so I and my friend Daniel faced with the dilema of free time, so two times a we had an uncontrolled walking near the school.
It was cold February day. It was shiny at 1 p.m., and great snowdrifts in the schoolyard. There were some children from 5th grade playing snowballs, so we decided to join them. We had a great half an hour, but then one of them threw a piece of ice to the school's door. The security guard (ex-prisoner, asome relative of our principal) walked out with a brutal face. He said something like: "It's time to die, little bustards". We was so scared that we couldn't move. Luckily, he didn't notice me and Daniel, we were lying behind the snowdrift. The other ran away, so he chased them. We successfully entered the school and visited the chess club.
The next day principal started an investigation. The guard recognized everybody except me and Daniel. The fifth-grades told about us and gave our description. We acted stomach pain and left school missing the identification. Also we called and generated an alibi. The next day we were ready to deny all. We met early before school to rehearse. However, nobody reminded that case next day; we expected the accusation for one week more. Then we calmed down. I suppose nobody keeps this thing in mind anymore, so I told you this story today.

The hardest party in my life.
It happened 6 days before my graduating from school. It was my classmate's birthday. She invited 8 people, all of us studied together. We celebrated in her country house. Her parents picked up us in Moscow at 2 pm. and in half an our we were at ours destination. Until 6 pm. we were walking in the forest, talking about entering universities and our prom. Then we had a great dinner with BBQ. As I remember, her father offered us champagne. I refused because I was on an examination of the liver. At 9 pm. her parents left us. We opened our backpack and pulled out 2*0,7 of Jack, 2*0,7 of Bombay, numerous volume of wine and some another stuff. We started with... watching the final Chelsea-Bayern. The second period we was so drunk that we could hardly recognize the players. Well, there was just 3 guys, one of them doesn't drink at all, another one was a coward, so all girls was enjoying drinking with me. We felt asleep at 5 am. At 8 arrived her parents and get us to the city. In the morning I felt ok and had a clear head. In the evening I lost my connection with the world and got a high temperature. I catched mononucleosis that night and missed my prom and state exams, got to a hospital and everybody thought I got a cancer. Surely I should running hardly naked in the cold morning.

Special place for me.
As you know, Moscow is one of the biggest cities all around the world, so that's why here are so much interesting places to visit. I'd like to tell you about a place I used to visit roughly every day in my high school- Tsvetnoy Central Market.
It's one of the few russian malls and the best on and thank God it was just two minutes from my school. That place is a dream for a person with a plenty of free time. Well, you can find there a lot of places to eat: "Vermishel'" and "Antresol'", where the eco-products you bought on a farmer market at he same level could be cooked by famous chiefs. In the Tsvetnoy there is also a famous MAXIM BAR, a mix of lounge and restaurant. Well, in TCM you can also find a lot of worldfamous brands' stores and local designers' collections. Also there is a broad assortment across cosmetics, perfume, beauty, home accessories, videos, books and electronic gadgets. The most important is the visitors. You won't met there rednecks or agressive snobs, most are very friendly, there are a lot of intelligent young, creative middle-ages and western foreigners. All this creates a wonderful athmosphere, which conducts for a pleasant pastime.

Неу, it's me again and today I'd like to talk about racism. I suppose, everybody has met this problem. It caused by many reasons. The first and the most significant is the family education. It's hard to resist parents' system of attitudes and beliefs, which are being told as established truth. Also, racism is easier taken for granted by poorly educated people, they are more prone to blame an abstract enemy, Americans or Jews. As Raymond Aron said: "Racism is the snobbery of the poor". I think so too: the color of your skin is the last thing should be looked at and all negative things correlate with it are born by racism. Somebody says that the most criminal guys in USA are African Americans, but it is vicious circle: there was a big unemployment in sixties for black people, or the jobs were too humiliating or low-paid, so this situation provoked a high crime wave among African Americans, slandering their reputation and creating low social conditions, etc. Indeed, there is no a "colored man" gene, which responses for intelligence or ability to work, any person is determined more often by the surrounding culture. To sum up, I would like to encourage people not to judge a man with his nationality, but with his quality as a person.

Hi guys. My name is Vladimir. Writing is my most hated kind of activity. It's hard to present things that are quiet obvious to me in a serious manner because they seem unimportant, though you may be interested.
I'm from Moscow. I have been stidying in school #1479. I liked math, economix and literature. Other subjects I studied almost perfect, not skillfully and with ardor. Most of the time spent in school i spent hanging out with my numerous friends. Ok, about all my fre time I watched movies. I haven't counted, but I suppose that the amount of  films I saw is bigger than the quantity of  any, even the smallest exercices I've done for last 10 years.  I started with actions and comedies, then I continued with top 250 movies, then I was interested in art-house films. Now i watch almost all the high rated movies. Moreover, I watched many UK and USA soap operas,  animated comedy television series and so on.
Well, also I like different sports, listening to music, visiting art galleries and museums, reading classic literature, traveling, etc.
I am fond of Western culture: I like it's socio-economic foundations, law system, way of life. I hope I could live in Russia and enjoy this benefits soon.
I hope I don't seem to be nerd to you.
 Yours, Vladimir.
